  • Effects of a USD$10,000 Bitcoin

    http://www.coindesk.com/will-10000-bitcoin-help-hurt-transactions/

    By Chongchen Saelee

What would happen if the value of a single Bitcoin became USD$10,000? First of all, a lot of Bitcoin investors would get filthy rich. Second, they’d get rich for nothing as they can’t really spend it.

Maybe the real issue here is what fuels economy and what defines currency. Bitcoin is a valid currency and you can buy things. But is it secure? No. It’s not. At least with the US Dollar, one friggin dollar is still worth one friggin dollar. I don’t have to worry about not being able to use it at a vending machine.

Then how do you define currency? Currency implies that people control the current of their economy. They are the lifeforce or bloodstream of their ecosystem. If people aren’t happy or content or confident with their neighborhoods, cities, governments, then they won’t recirculate their currency, thus making their economy suck. For the most part, Americans don’t understand how to put value into the US Dollar because they live so comfortably. Maybe it’s something they take for granted. After all, the value of money is imaginary. Whatever you were going to do, you didn’t require money to do it, it’s just exists as a social construct. It’s almost like manifest destiny.

So if Bitcoin’s value ever goes up to $10,000, then it’s because the investors that created the hocus pocus game that is Bitcoin are afraid they will lose their fortunes in American dollars. So being the greedy fucks they are, they convert that magic imaginary monetary value into Bitcoins, because now that people that do control the value of American dollars cannot control the value of Bitcoins.

I think I know what I’m talking about. It has something to do with great empires minting their own coins and currency. That means in the upcoming Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Caesar should actually have his ape people pass around leaves or bark chips with his face drawn in poop on them. Then, when the heroic white man enters their forests looking for monkey magic water beer, then Caesar can say, “Your paper money is no good here, human. Caesar money is God in the jungle.”

  • New Smartphone Chinese OnePlus Is Kewl Says Yahoo!

Someone got paid off. Just because this Chinese “no-name” brand phone is $300 doesn’t mean it’s viable. Losers buy iPhones and Samsungs and whatever because of the brand name. That’s why they’re willing to waste $600. For the association. For the swag. For the validation. It has nothing to do with saving money or practicality.

    Remember pet rocks?

  • End of the Great Roman Empire

I just read an article about Bitcoin and other types of local currency popping up all over the place. Before the fall of great empires, all the kings and noblemen started coining their own currencies. Yet, ironically, the Almighty US Dollar is still the basis for Bitcoins, Xbox points, etc, etc. Sure, I’d love to make a profit from my share of Bitcoin, but I also understand that most of its power comes from the almighty dollar. The Great Roman Empire isn’t going to fall quite yet.

  • Harvesting Kinetic Energy via Earth’s Rotation

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rotational_energy

I must be out of the loop, but imagine if we could get FREE ELECTRICITY via the kinetic energy, or rotational energy, of the Earth. Google’s probably doing it. Some mad scientists or governments probably are. But it’d be like a giant copper coil ring around the earth and a giant magnet at the Earth’s core. Just rotate that giant thing around and around. Of course, I don’t know if that would fry all us Earthlings, but I’m just free flow thinking.

  • Digital Storage on Glass Media

    http://www.extremetech.com/extreme/160928-five-dimensional-glass-memory-can-store-360tb-per-disc-rugged-enough-to-outlive-the-human-race

    Glass media for digital storage

As cool as it sounds, I think it hasn’t caught on because it’s too fragile. Imagine, according to the article, that entire 360 Terabytes of data GONE because you’re dog knocked it off the desk, or you were getting your hanky panky on and sat on it, or something more stupid.

That’s why USB sticks caught on because consumers are idiots and prone to accidents, and USB sticks are TOUGH little buggers.

Whatever new media storage technology comes out next, it’s going to have to be flexible and indestructable, but at the same time also capable of storing a lot of data. It might look something like plastic tape.

Because, if my understanding is correct, modern access to digital storage is always via electricity. It’s all about having that electrical charge or not, the universal and tried-and-true “binary” data structure. Unless you can control black holes and store data at 3D coordinates in time-space, you’ll only be able to store data on something material or utilizing nano-technology.

  • Omegle is Frightening Online Community

    By Chongchen Saelee

I just spent the last hour trolling Omegle, my god, it’s kinda exciting to see that the Internet is indeed live and well, however, it’s full of creepers.

Withing the first 10 seconds of signing in, I get an eye full frontal of a hairy-chested, fully nude but cropped off at the neck white dude jerking his dick off. SMDH.

And what follows is nothing but a bunch of shirtless white dudes reclining on beds or what they think they look like sexy Ambercrombie and Fitch cover models or something. Most of them are jerking their dicks out of frame. And some of these cats look like YouTube’s PewDiePie. (more…)

  • Bitcoin Lottery: Turn USD$100 into USD$1000!!!

    By Chongchen Saelee

Surely, for some, the Bitcoin trade is very real. Those who had invested early on and sold their Bitcoins before the price plummeted after it maxed out at value of approx. $1000 per Bitcoin. The problem why Bitcoin isn’t catching on is because it’s still dollar-based. Because if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it, right? Cash became debit and credit cards almost seamlessly, but it was still dollar-based. Bitcoin is technically the same as debit and credit, but it instead tries to decide its own value via a math algorithm, which is sketchy and hard to predict and even know who controls it. At least a US Dollar is a dollar. As long as the price of a stick of gum doesn’t increase beyond that, you can assuredly use your dollar in a vending machine.

But it’s kinda interesting. I want to see how this Bitcoin thing turns out. And this is where you can help me out. You can donate some Bitcoins my way at http://www.coinbase.com/eastfist. My goal is to reach one entire Bitcoin. Thanks for your consideration.

  • NRA Says Something Responsible About Gun Nuts For a Change

    http://www.bloombergview.com/articles/2014-06-02/nra-decides-good-guys-with-guns-are-weirdos?cmpid=yhoo

Well, well, well. For the most part in Pop Culture, NRA is pro-gun and pro-shoot-everything. But today, in the shadow of Elliot Rodger shooting spree, NRA actually says something that makes sense. In summary, most gun nuts took NRA chieftan Wayne LaPierre’s quote, “The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun” as literal. And so LaPierre had to clarify himself. He later said that it isn’t practical to live in a world that is like a war zone, where you walk into a restaurant to get a cup of coffee with an assault rifle slung over your chest. We don’t live in a third world country. And if all patrons of that coffee shop had guns on them, it just makes our culture and society look bad. The odds of any of these gun violence happening is rare. He’s telling gun nuts to take it down a notch and not be so paranoid.

    Bravo NRA. Bravo.

You need to be of sound mind to use a gun, a modern-day samurai, someone whose mind is really clear.

Imagine, if these were feudal days, how practical it would be to walk around with swords. Do you bite your thumb at me, sir! DO YOU BITE YOUR THUMB AT ME!!! Yup, not practical.
