  • Propose a Challenge: Interstellar and Implications

    By Chongchen Saelee

    http://youtu.be/GLDB8OIxU2I

Let’s say we did discover a real black hole. But we haven’t received any real evidence of what it does. How many of you ordinary people of the world are brave enough to enter into it, in hopes of coming back to us with something mind-blowing? How many of you are truly fearless?

  • Michael Jackson Hologram Technology and Its Implications

    By Chongchen Saelee

    http://youtu.be/RFoSwc3w0PA

I wonder if you’re getting spooked by how advanced this technology is. What possible good can come of this? I already know that it’s dead in the water when it comes to “live performances”. No one wants to go watch a big screen. They want REAL PERFORMERS doing real music. Otherwise, they can go watch a movie.

The technology is so advanced, if my understanding is correct, that they video feed can be broadcast in real-time with a body double and have the face tracked onto the moving double with no problem. That’s scary stuff.

It makes me wonder which countries our governments are going to use this to dupe. Who are they planning on assassinating? Who are they planning on ressurrecting and impersonating?

  • You Can Now Text 911 In Case Of Emergency

    http://news.msn.com/us/you-can-now-send-texts-to-911-in-an-emergency-1

It’s not as efficient as immediate help from people around you, but if you REALLY REALLY GOTTA TEXT, assuming you can use your fingers, then you can text to 911 along with your location and your emergency. Of course, this won’t work unless you have texting service. Smart phones don’t automatically have a stress beacon.

It’s only available for certain regions right now, but service is provided by major providers AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, and T-Mobile.

  • All-Knowing Eastfist: Skilled Programmers Will Be Highly Valued

    By Chongchen Saelee

Much like the appeal of doctors, programmers tend to have a similar reputation because the skill required to do the job is rare to attain. And the exceptionally skilled, ones who actually come up with intuitive and innovative things is even more rare. For the most part, the average programmer doesn’t think outside the box. They aren’t creative. They are just another cog in the machine. And that’s why when problems arise and the problem-solving falls back onto them, the solutions usually aren’t that good. (more…)

  • All-Knowing Eastfist: Skin Batteries For Robots

    By Chongchen Saelee

I want to start a new gag called “All-Knowing Eastfist” where I predict the future or come up with a new idea for future technologies. In this edition, I propose a technology called “skin batteries”. Much like solar cells and existing batteries, skin batteries would store the energy in a container. (more…)

  • Upgrade Nikon D3200 to Nikon D5300

    By Chongchen Saelee

    Man, Nikon, why??? Whyyyyyyyyyy???

At the time I was shopping around for my first DSLR, I wanted to get the Nikon D5100 because it had a swivel LCD screen. Well, years later, and having purchased the D3200 instead because that’s all I could afford at the time, I feel it’s time for a little upgrade, but alas, it’s not in my budget.

What I like about the Nikon D5300: (more…)
