    By Chongchen Saelee

Fiverr’s basic gigs charge at least $5. Their standard cut is 20%. So for every $5 basic gig you sell, they take 20% of $5, so you only get $4. That’s good and all when it’s already set up for you, but what about bigger projects that you have to use Fiverr’s Custom Offer Tool to set? Well, in order not to sell yourself short and get paid correctly, this is how you do it: (more…)

  • Satoshi Nakamoto: Why Bitcoin Ultimately Failed

    By Chongchen Saelee

Bitcoin failed because of human nature: greed. First of all, I never intended on Bitcoin going public or even being monetized. I had written a few prototypes and was testing it myself. It was on private computers. It was more an exercise to see if I could actually bring my paper to life, to see if it actually worked.

Unfortunately, when greedy unaccomplished techies seize the opportunity to steal credit for it, they will. Thus, what you see right now with Bitcoin is parallel of Zimbabwe warlords hijacking of currency. Or what I like to allude to is Lord of the Flies. Bitcoin is meant to cater to everyone, it’s all-inclusive. (more…)

  • Pre-Generated Images On Internet

    By Chongchen Saelee

JPEGs are the most commonly used image format on and off the Internet. That’s because it uses the best compression algorithm (which may be contested) to make images portable for storage and transfer. But image resolution is increasing in detail and even JPEGs aren’t getting any smaller. The idea has always been to retain the visual data but keeping the storage size small. With JPEG compression, when data is lost due to over compression, it is called lossy. Contrast with lossless compression, which retains the all the original color data, but the file size is smaller. PNG image compression is capable of lossless compression.

So here’s my proposal to have even more efficient image generation: (more…)

  • Face Simplification Process

    Face Simplify

Man, the process of creating a work method to have consistent face quality is hard. If anything is off, the character ends up looking like someone else completely, or looks too young, or too old. At least I got the “Asian” nose correct. Only reference is myself.

  • Fish Flavor Soda, Mmm-Mm!!!

    Fish Soda Concept
    Fish Soda Concept

An idea I had for my upcoming sci-fi story. Fish soda wouldn’t necessary be a mouthful of sea water. It’s the fresh essence of fish, natural or artificial. It may very well be cold soup type of thing like V8 tomato juice. And because it’s sci-fi speculation, because of ignorant consumer complaints, the fish “odor” is engineered away. Of course, the real gimmick is that in the future, no one knows what fish tastes like anymore, so they just drink this artificial gunk and it’s quite popular flavor.

  • Secrets of Bitcoin By Satoshi Nakamoto

    By Chongchen Saelee

When I first conceived Bitcoin for my high school assignment, I had to come up with a way to simulate existing financial system or at least what I thought it was. So back in the late 1990s, people were already using credit cards (a kind of non-tangible money) but there was very little integration or user-friendly interface with the Internet. Then PayPal came along which was pretty close to “Internet money”, but was obviously just an exchange between existing currencies. (more…)
