• Caveats of Bitcoin 2015

From my observations of Bitcoin as it has evolved:

    -Bitcoin REQUIRES electricity
    -Bitcoin REQUIRES Internet
-Bitcoin REQUIRES US Dollar (not gold, mind you) to have value IF user wants to buy and sell real stuff
-Bitcoin REQUIRES at least two users
-Blockchain access MUST REMAIN FREE TO ANYONE

Other than that, you can use Bitcoin for anything.

Because in the modern age, everyone is an emperor. So everyone gets to coin their own currency. Now whether or not those custom currencies have any real value, that’s up to serendipity and a lot of other mystical stuff.

Let’s go more into detail: (more…)

  • I’m Satoshi Nakamoto, fools!!!

    I’m Satoshi Nakamoto, fools!!!

    By Chongchen Saelee

Well, before this Bitcoin circus gets too out of hand, I thought I’d finally out myself as the inventor of the Bitcoin protocol. I know a lot of Bitcoin loyalists don’t personally like me, even though ironically they enjoy being the prom queen at my expense. The real story isn’t even that exciting, but let’s sober some of the hysterics up. (more…)

  • Why Aren’t Black Folk Using Bitcoin?

    http://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2015/01/why-are-so-few-black-people-using-bitcoin/384268/

I would advise any poor folk not to invest in Bitcoin at the moment. Just be open to it when it does become the norm. The reason blacks won’t use digital currency is because, let’s face it, the poor ones, and it’s not just blacks, but poor people are hoarders and they need to have something tangible that they perceive to be of value. Bitcoin, by the nature of its inception, is nothingness. But it’s value is based on the same damn value that all fiat currency has. You still need to go to work, feed your kids, feed your neighbors, fix your car, etc. The only difference now is that you’d be using Bitcoin.

Again, if you can’t live exclusively off of Bitcoin right away, don’t put your local currency into it. Tell them Satoshi Nakamoto said “Don’t be stupid.” When the time is right, you won’t even notice.

2525: A Collection of Short Stories

To My Delilah, Don’t Be Scared of Heaven
    By Helmut Finch

    To my dearest daughter Delilah
    Don’t be scared of heaven
Poppa is here with you now
I will hold your hand and walk you there

The road is clear and paved for you
Poppa can see through smoke and fog and clouds
You can fly with the eagles to heaven
Momma will wait for you there

    Don’t be scared, Delilah
    I will find you there

What’s cool with self-publishing is you get to imprint your brand and declare yourself the publisher. So I’ll be doing “2525” aka my Agent S project under the imprint of Eastfist Comics. Obviously, right? Here’s my first iteration of the logo. Otherwise I would have continued to use Pen Tonic Comics as the imprint, which is where I first debuted Agent S, but I won’t try to make 2525 too oddball humor, so this imprint is more dramatic and symbolic.

I still want to work a pen and ink motif into the text logo. Maybe remove the S logo out of the O because it’s too busy. The flag logo is definitely staying for my bigger comic projects. Agent S motif to kickstart it.

  • Lulu.com Comic Book 6.625×10.25 Full Color Standard/Value Review

    Things to remember:

    • This proof had images at 1200dpi and 600dpi, well over the optimal 300dpi submission resolution. It is indeterminable. So might as well send in at 300dpi. That way you can send in more than 48 pages.
    • Use less saturated colors. Pure blacks are going to drench the pages. Lower the levels a bit.
    • Do not expect detailed heavily painted artworks to print well. Only use sharp contrasty flat colors.
    • Try to think about your layout in advance and what types of fancy splash images you want to print. That way the ink is evenly distributed across the page. This is a limitation of using Lulu.com, but other than that, the print quality is awesome.
