Man. Wow. Blender 2.76 was just released a few days ago. And wow, look at what I churned out. I modeled the glass cup really quick. But using Cycles Renderer, took about 3 hours to render out. The 3D text was easy, but I’m still challenged by how to make the bevel for the border/outline along with bevel for the inset area. Anyway, the performance seem to be way better, no more crashing. There’s also a new cloth, wind physics simulator. And a “portal” light tool that sucks up the ray tracing, which improves rendering times. All have yet to be tested by me, but Blender just impresses me with every release. They’re latest open source movie is called Cosmos Laundromat. It also looks incredible.

I suppose like any other commercial work, you have to do it methodically. You have to lay out the foundation, then go in and refine it. This is what 2 hours yields me. But this time I experimented with Manga Studio 5’s watercolor tools. It looks very authentic, like it would if you physically painted it.

  • Legend of Zelda Symphony of the Goddesses Master Class in Milwaukee Wisconsin Oct 3 2015!!!

I attended Legend of Zelda Symphony of the Goddesses Master Class (third tour) at Milwaukee Theatre in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Oct. 3, 2015! It was EPIC. You really need to experience music live. Nothing beats a live performance. The theatre was PACKED. Mostly middle-aged men over age of 30, strangely. But obviously, who else would be able to pay for those tickets?

    Anyway, it was amazing.

Fiverr’s basic gigs charge at least $5. Their standard cut is 20%. So for every $5 basic gig you sell, they take 20% of $5, so you only get $4. That’s good and all when it’s already set up for you, but what about bigger projects that you have to use Fiverr’s Custom Offer Tool to set? Well, in order not to sell yourself short and get paid correctly, this is how you do it: (more…)

  • Satoshi Nakamoto: Why Bitcoin Ultimately Failed

    By Chongchen Saelee

Bitcoin failed because of human nature: greed. First of all, I never intended on Bitcoin going public or even being monetized. I had written a few prototypes and was testing it myself. It was on private computers. It was more an exercise to see if I could actually bring my paper to life, to see if it actually worked.

Unfortunately, when greedy unaccomplished techies seize the opportunity to steal credit for it, they will. Thus, what you see right now with Bitcoin is parallel of Zimbabwe warlords hijacking of currency. Or what I like to allude to is Lord of the Flies. Bitcoin is meant to cater to everyone, it’s all-inclusive. (more…)
