{"id":1667,"date":"2012-05-31T22:18:50","date_gmt":"2012-06-01T04:18:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.eastfist.com\/?p=1667"},"modified":"2012-05-31T22:18:50","modified_gmt":"2012-06-01T04:18:50","slug":"new-scans-of-old-photos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eastfist.com\/blog\/2012\/05\/31\/new-scans-of-old-photos\/","title":{"rendered":"New scans of old photos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ah, first-hand experience of learning to photograph and how much pixel power film has.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>I re-scanned some more black and white film and color negative film from my college days now that I have a little bit more hard drive space.<\/p>\n<p>So I shot with Ilford F4 Plus black and white professional film and that digitized is roughly 6 to 8 megapixels per image.<\/p>\n<p>Color neg was Kodak 160 NC and digitized is roughly 8 to 10 megapixels per image.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.eastfist.com\/wayneBW.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.eastfist.com\/howtotie.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.eastfist.com\/somebodysomeday.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.eastfist.com\/ezraBW.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.eastfist.com\/stagingBW.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.eastfist.com\/whyyyyBW.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.eastfist.com\/meditationBW.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.eastfist.com\/dadFishing.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.eastfist.com\/twinlocks.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.eastfist.com\/twinlocksdock.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.eastfist.com\/rocksBW.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.eastfist.com\/redpeppersDOF.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ll have to excuse me for my lack of color photos because I&#8217;ll have to admit I wasn&#8217;t really good at it.  The black and white photo-taking was so much easier, just had to make sure there was a lot of light and it was almost guaranteed the images would turn out. Oh well, at least you get to see my take on the obligatory depth-of-field shot of red peppers (nowadays it&#8217;s hip to take M&#038;Ms or colored candy).<\/p>\n<p>I really like the color negative (and color slide\/positive) film because the colors are so smooth.
