For those who dare stay tuned with my life, I’ve been busy working on an independent comic book called “Jackpot Bloom”. The script runs about about 100-some pages. I’m officially 34 pages in, and I have yet to color them. There’s also the marketing materials and covers I have to paint.
The problem when you’re trying to tackle these momentous feats of projects is you may get burned out. (more…)

Some minor technical flaws, but it being only the initial proof, it can easily be fixed. But, man, am I proud today. Holy moly moly. Guys, set aside some money and buy this book!

Notice, if I follow my employer’s script, you might get lost with the continuity by page 2 (when you flip the page) because the word balloon just seems to be floating there. I might add a following panel just to clarify it is the same old man from page 1 playing this kid in tennis. What say you?

Instead of just converting the pencils to black, I actually retrace it using GIMP’s Ink Tool. It creates a more comic book look. I also test coloring. What do you guys think?

It doesn’t look like a pro comic book inker, but it is my style. I might have to work on some of the line quality to emphasize shadows and highlights.
