  • Nikon D3200 DSLR Auto-Focus Mode Is Impressive!

    Shoulda mastered the full Auto-Focus Mode for my Nikon D3200 DSLR. Didn’t know I could get such good results. These were captured with a heavy ass telephoto lens, hand-held, and the stupid robins were moving all over the place! You gotta set those damn camera settings right and be ready to shoot. Shot from inside my dimly lit living room through the grimy glass backdoor. Impressive results!

    (BTW, I realize the cooked little bird might be misconstrued as one of the robins, but it ain’t. It’s just a baked hen, I happen to be cooking and eating around the same time the critters come out to eat in my backyard today)

  • Comic Book Art: Incredible Hulk By Gary Frank

    Howdy ho, here are some scans of my “The Incredible Hulk” comic book, issue January #413. It features the art of Gary Frank, which I find quite nice, although the layout is not very dynamic and kinda boring. I mean look at the cover. The cover doesn’t really draw your attention, so you wouldn’t even know how awesome the artwork inside the book is. But, oh well, here are some pages:

  • Math You Might Find Useful For Daily Problem Solving

    Order of operations

    Parenthesis, Exponents/Power, Multiplication, Division/Modulus, Addition, Subtraction

    Notation example
    (a2 * b) + c – d
    1. a2
    2. * b
    3. + c
    4. – d

    Proportions

    a / A = x / X

    a b
    — = —
    A B

    You’re trying to solve x. You have to cross-multiply. Be mindful of order of operations.

    x * A = a * X
x = a * X / A

  • WordPress 5.8 Adds WEBP Image Format Support

    Testing it out. Not a fan of it. It works, but only because I’m previewing it in Chrome. However, it’s slow to load maybe because it’s doing some additional Javascripting to make it work. So unless there is native support, I wouldn’t recommend using WEBP images just yet.

  • Spider-Mans No Way Home Review

    Hollywood has struggled to pump out their movies for profit during these pandemic times. Sure, blame it on the pandemic and not the shitty movies no one wants to pay to watch. LOL. Even powerhouse movie franchise like these Spider-Man movies had to do a bunch of reshoots and re-releases in an attempt to recoup losses. So here’s Sony’s final (hopefully) attempt to re-release yet another cut of Spider-Man No Way Home, the third film in the third modern Spider-Man movie series in the past 20 years.

    Ticket pre-sales for No Way Home seem to prove loyal fans want to see it. Most of the online ticket websites had crashed because of the overwhelming rush of buyers. Well, now you can look up pre-sold seats at your local movie theater’s website, if they have it, and it does seem to be mostly packed or sold-out screenings come premiere weekend. So if you want to experience the excitement and promise of an amazing Spider-Man movie, now is the time to jump on the hype train. (more…)
