New Batman Cowl Revealed!!!

Bat Cowl Revealed!!! To me, Batman will have a pure black cape (computer generated) because it’s just like a shadow. He emerges from the shadow/cape and can disappear back into it. And then the cape dissipates into thin air like black smoke. So if you see a black shadow coming at you shaped like a giant bat, it looks incredibly frightening. And then a black shadow man with horns emerges from it.

Three Days To Kill Edward Snowden: A Short Story
By Chongchen Saelee
Alrighty, boys and girls, here’s an April’s Fool treat for ya! Enjoy!
===========================================
No one knew who Edward Snowden was until he put on the mask. At least, he got quite the kick from making a reference about himself to the villainous Bane from the film The Dark Knight Rises. Snowden thought himself quite the showman and freedom fighter. He enjoyed the media spotlight the most.
However, his fifteen minutes of fame would end displayed in a wooden box for the world to see. (more…)

Batman vs Superman Looking for Extras in Michigan
http://batman-news.com/2014/03/28/be-an-extra-in-batman-vs-superman-in-detroit-michigan/
Wow! Here’s my chance again to be in a major motion picture. I live right next to Michigan in Wisconsin. And my schedule is kinda open. Anyway, they’re looking for clean cut military and law enforcement types. Must be a dystopian Gotham City montage or something. I imagine something like Stephen King’s “The Mist” with a bunch of armed dudes running through the streets of Gotham. Batman is black smokey mist lingering in the shadows.
Well, if this casting call is real, good luck to all you aspiring actors!!!

Batman Celebrates 75th Anniversary
http://variety.com/2014/biz/news/batman-turns-75-gets-big-birthday-bash-from-wb-dc-1201149261/
By Chongchen Saelee
Yowza. Batman is 75 years old. That’s like three generations of brainwashed Bat-fans. And ironically, most fans only know he exists through the movies and not the comic books.
Anyway, just thought it was worth blogging about, since I do get a lot of traffic regarding Batman.
Rumor has it, WB might release official title and teaser pics of the costume during this celebration. Keep your eyes peeled.

How I Would Adapt Jonny Quest for Live Action Film
By Chongchen Saelee
Everyone who grew up on some incarnation of Jonny Quest loves the appeal of being the bad-ass boy of the hour. You don’t want to be Robin because he just can’t outweigh Batman as the sidekick. Jonny Quest, however, although technically still the sidekick to his scientist father and Rick Bannon, is actually the main focus and star of his own show. If you’re a young kid watching this, you don’t feel left out.
And I’m sure Hollywood knows this is a good property to adapt for live-action. They’ve tried it. At one point, “High School Musical” star Zak Efron was attached to play Jonny Quest, but then he became a man, so no more of that.
If Jonny Quest is just James Bond, Jr., I say do it like a Bond movie then. Very serious tone. No dumbing it down for kids like Roberto Rodriguez would do (even though his Spy Kids franchise is relatively successful). (more…)

Wonder Woman Gal Gadot Costume Design Predictions
By Chongchen Saelee
Costume designer Michael Wilkinson recently hinted that his version of Wonder Woman might look heavily armored much like film adaptations of gladiators (and with laser guns?) But boy works in Hollywood after all, and Hollywood is creatively bankrupt, and they tend to funnel that money back into their own pockets by stealing or recycling tried-and-true ideas. What am I saying? I’m saying Wilkinson might be obligated to stick with what his higher-ups tell him to do, which is recycle old designs. Check out these possible inspirations: (more…)
