I remember a story my father told me when I was a young boy. I must have been 8… 9, 10 years old? Anyway, he would tell me this story about brave warriors fighting off dark demons. It was a strange story to tell a boy before he’d go to sleep. It would induce strange dreams. But over the years, I had forgotten the story. Remnants of that dream, however, still come back to me every now and then. It only takes a single moment in my day, something like looking up at the happy yellow sun, and the smell of green grass to conjure up the images from my father’s story. (more…)

Much like the appeal of doctors, programmers tend to have a similar reputation because the skill required to do the job is rare to attain. And the exceptionally skilled, ones who actually come up with intuitive and innovative things is even more rare. For the most part, the average programmer doesn’t think outside the box. They aren’t creative. They are just another cog in the machine. And that’s why when problems arise and the problem-solving falls back onto them, the solutions usually aren’t that good. (more…)

I want to start a new gag called “All-Knowing Eastfist” where I predict the future or come up with a new idea for future technologies. In this edition, I propose a technology called “skin batteries”. Much like solar cells and existing batteries, skin batteries would store the energy in a container. (more…)

For those who dare stay tuned with my life, I’ve been busy working on an independent comic book called “Jackpot Bloom”. The script runs about about 100-some pages. I’m officially 34 pages in, and I have yet to color them. There’s also the marketing materials and covers I have to paint.
The problem when you’re trying to tackle these momentous feats of projects is you may get burned out. (more…)
