Rewinding Hope

The side track ended off a jagged cliff
My memories fell in tailspin
Towards darkness bound by no white stripes
Down on me she came
The guarded angel of my plain brain

She caught me and dragged me up
But pulled me down
Broken me into shards of glass
Splinters of my body exploding all over her

But after all her failed attempt
She briskly flew away
One crystal tear sparkling down her cheek
Never to catch a falling star again
Back to where she came

And my memories of her
Spinning on cycle slowly into the abyss
Reminding me
To rewind hope I might forget
What she set the track to play
